Paul Murray, a self taught artist, hails from Edinburgh, Scotland and currently lives in North London.
A classical training in French cuisine underpins Paul’s painting method. He uses different mixtures of paints, varnishes and interference media, much like a chef would use to create a particular meal.
Paul is an experienced scuba diver and uses the results of incredible scenes from below the waves to create images on canvas. Other influences are moments in time captured for a split second on our planet and how Paul envisages how the timeless bounds of outer space might look.
Paul is continually asked what materials rather than the methods he uses. He finds this fascinating because as Paul says “ If I gave you flour, eggs and sugar but no method, the chances of you coming up with a beautiful cake would be nil.”
Graham Fine Art is pleased to be able to present this artist in Crouch End.
